 WORLD's FIRST ARTIFICIAL BRAIN

Artificial brain is a software or hardware which is similar to functioning of biological human brain in terms of memory, feelings, emotions and decision making power. This can be done by going deep into the functioning of Artificial intelligence. The structure of human brain is still complex to understand by scientists.

Main objective behind Artificial Brain is to establish a connection in between human brain and artificial brain so that machine can function like human brain and all important work done by human brain be downloaded to artificial brain by applying high computational algorithms using supercomputers with large storage facilities which can be used forever for different purposes until erased.

Life span of every human is limited, so if a person dies knowledge and intelligence will be void. Before death of humans, all functionalities of brain can be extracted using an Artificial brain and can be used forever. The artificial brain can also be used in research of treatment for diseases like ALZHEIMER'S and PARKINSON'S DISEASE.


The concept of ‘Blue Brain’ came into inception by Mr.Henry Markram in 2005. He is a Professor of Neuroscience at the Swiss Fed for designing individual neurons and networks of neurons. His main idea was to reconstruct the human brain as a computer model. If the Blue Brain Project is successful, knowledge can be preserved even after the person’s death.

Human brains are studied through Nanobots which are designed in such a way that it can travel through central nervous system. These bots basically encapsulate all the biological, neurological data from human system and the information can then received can be processed through super computer which have large storage and processing capabilities.The simulation software used by blue brain project is called NEURON which was developed by Michael Hines and John Moore in 1990's. The software which is used to collect data from Nanobots is Blue Brain Project Software Development Kit (BBP-SDK) and the neural simulations are then visualized by RT Neuron application and OpenGL.

The aim of Blue Brain is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world’s first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain. 

The supercomputer-based simulations and reconstructions built by Blue Brain offer a radically new approach for understanding the multi-level structure and function of the brain.

HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE..?

  • The information is transferred from human brain to supercomputers using small robots called as "nanobots", they are too small that they can enter spine and central nervous system. Then after entering into the human body, nanobots start scanning and monitoring structure of neurons.
  • Now the connection between computer is formed only by using nanobots as a interface and software.
  • The final data is stored in databases and will be used for further modelling of human brain functions. If this experiment is successful then knowledge of brain can be stored and examined.

Advantages of BLUE BRAINS:-

  • Things could be remembered without any effort
  • Using the intelligence of a person even after the death
  • It can make decisions entirely on its own
  • Improvements in processing, speed and memory could make entire human brain stimulated
  • Allowing the deaf to hear via direct nerve stimulation
Dis-Advantages of BLUE BRAINS:-
  • Fear of human cloning
  • Dependency on computers
  • A very expensive procedure of getting memory back

HARDWARE & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:-
  • A super computer
  • Processor with a very high processing power
  • Memory with large storing capacity
  • Very powerful nanobots to act as the interface between natural brain and computer
  • A program to convert the electric impulses from brain to input signal, which is to be received by the computer and vice versa.

CONCLUSION - We will be able to transfer ourselves into the computers at some point. The only serious threats raised are also overcome as we note the combination of biological and digital technologies. While the road ahead is long, already researches have been gaining great insights from their model.
